How can you get negative information off of your credit report after you have already filed banckrup

I would really like to buy a house but i was told that i would have to wait another year before i can. it%26#039;s been a year and two months since the bankruptcy was discharged but i need to know how to get my score up and get alot of this negative information off of my credit report while the rates are low.

7 yrs or 10 yrs depends on the type of BK.....nothing you can do buy lay low and pay your bills on time..then you will get some high interest junk loans and end up in the same situation.......rent!

It%26#039;s probably a bit early for lenders to trust you again. The best thing you can do is keep your debt under 50% of your total credit amount. i.e., if you have $2,000 in credit, make sure you are NEVER in debt over $1,000. Even though rates are low now, no one will give you a fixed rate with a bankruptcy...not yet anyways. However, If you can come up with a large down payment for a house, you may find some more lenient lenders. Hang in there. I had a credit score of 980 for 16 years, went through a bankruptcy and lost all financial credibility. Just keep your debt low, never be late on payments, and give in another year or two. Best of luck.

It is called credit history for a reason. A bankruptcy will not remove bad accounts, only time can do that. Negative information will remain on your report for 7 years from the date of the Charge-Off(which is about 7.5 years from the date of the first delinquency). So unless they are older than 7 years the only thing you can do about the negative accounts is to be sure that they are being reported correctly. That is they should show a 0 balance and be listed as %26quot;Included in Bankruptcy%26quot;.

But you also need to start to rebuild your credit. This includes getting a credit card and paying it on-time every month, as well as to not use more than 30% of your limit. This also includes getting another type of regular loan such as a car loan. Without you doing this first you are not going to get a mortgage from any legitimate lender.

First what negative information is showing up on your credit report...If the creditors you filed bankruptcy with are still showing up with a balance and not reporting as a bankruptcy there is actions you can take.
