If my credit card annual interest rate is 20%, what percentage am I charged per month of unpaid bala

Well, it would be

Y*.22/12

(Ammount you have on your credit card, multiplied by .22 and devided by 12.)

This is how much interest is compounded monthly.

If my credit card annual interest rate is 20%, what percentage am I charged per month of unpaid balance?

Just take 20% and divide it by 12. In your case its around 1.6% per month.

It is actually compounded daily, and depends upon the number of days in the billing period using average daily balance. So it would compound at 0.20/365 per day which averages somewhat higher than 0.20/12 per month.

Despite this being a leap year (366 days) it appears from one of my bills that they still figure daily interest based on a 365 day year.
