How do I get credit card companies to lower the interest rate on my credit cards?

Simply by calling them.

A customer rep will answer; tell them that you%26#039;d like to speak to someone to discuss how your interest rates can be lowered. The person (often a supervisor) will review your account and your payment history. If you pay on time regularly, chances are high that they will lower your interest rates.

Typically, they will review your account again in 6 months - so you can call again in 6 months to see if they can lower again your rates.

But it will depend on how good you are in paying your credit. And threatening them that you plan to cancel your account and move to another credit card sometimes helps.

Call and ask to have the rate lowered. Tell them that you have an offer from a competitor, but you%26#039;re happy with the service and would like to stay if they will simply lower your rate.

Good luck!

Call your credit card company. If you can further justify a lower rate do so. For example, %26quot;I%26#039;ve never been late on a payment,%26quot; or %26quot;I%26#039;ve been a customer for __ years%26quot; or %26quot;I have a good credit score.%26quot; Simply asking can get the job done, but offering an explanation as to why you deserve a lower rate helps even more. Good luck!
